The Idukki Dam is a double curvature arch dam built across the Periyar River in a narrow gorge between two granite hills in Kerala, India, known locally as Kuravan and Kurathi. It is one of the largest arch dams in Asia, at 168.91 metres. It is established by the Kerala State Electricity Board and owned there.
