World Bank approves $1 billion to help India battle COVID-19

On Friday, the World Bank approved $1 billion 'Accelerating the COVID-19 Social Protection Response Program for India' to help the country's efforts to provide social assistance to poor  families, seriously impacted by the pandemic.

This brings to $2 billion the world bank's total contribution to emergency COVID-19 response in India.
