Nil Diya Pokuna is a pond located in a cave or tunnel complex in Ella which king Rawana is believed to have built. The pond lies inside a Karandagolla mountain cave, 80 meters deep. The cave can be reached from two separate exits, the better-known one of which is located in the area's forest reserve. A villager then found another entrance to a private estate. The cave has an entrance to a rabbit hole from which it can enter the pool. It is a place for the adventurous to explore and caution should be taken during this journey. The pond's water is crystal clear and when combined with light, gives a blue tinge of colour.
