It took a whole year for a huge truck carrying an aerospace autoclave to travel from Maharashtra to Kerala's  Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre. The 74-wheel truck left Nashik in July 2019 and eventually reached Thiruvananthapuram on July 19, 2020, after passing another four states, covering a distance of 1,700 km.

The truck holds a tool called the VSSC Aerospace Autoclave. Machine weighs 70 tonnes, 7.5 meters in height and 6.65 meters in width. Because of its giant size and the space it takes, pushing the truck through the ordinary roads is difficult and thus it traveled only for 5 kilometers a day.

In addition to the giant scale, the journey of the truck has also been extended to combat the spread of the virus due to extreme lockdowns imposed in the country due to the novel coronavirus outbreak since 25 March this year.

Police also provided a pilot car to avoid any road mishap as the truck went through towns, while trees had to be cut and electric lines installed to ensure the gigantic vehicle was going smoothly.
