The two Rajya Sabha seats – one in both Uttar Pradesh and Kerala – will be elected on 24 August, declared by the Election Commission.After Beni Prasad Verma of UP and Kerala MP Veerendra Kumar died earlier this year, the elections were required.
Although the term of Beni Prasad Verma was until June 2022, in April 2022, the term of Veerendra Kumar had to end.The by-polls will be announced on 6 August and the runoff on 24 August.
