Rameswaram Mahadeva Temple is situated in the district of Kollam. Rameswaram Mahadeva Temple is believed to be one of Kerala's 108 Shiva temples, and is built by Shiva 's devoted sage Parasurama. It is one of two temples at 108 Shivalaya Sothram in Rameswaram.There are two small towers on the temple's west and north sides. In front of Balikkal pura in the west, there is a copper flag mast. The central sanctum is rectangular in form, and the shrine is adorned with exquisite carvings of stone and wood.A pillar set up in the Rameswaram temple courtyard houses a royal order of King Rama Kulasekhara, a King Chera of Kerala from the 12th century.
