spear phishing attack led to the huge bitcoin scam - Twitter

In a blog post and a series of Tweets released on Thursday evening, Twitter updated the unprecedented assault on July 15, enabling hackers to tweet from several of the highest-profile accounts. Twitter says now that several workers have been hit in a mobile spear attack. While Twitter does not state that it assumes that hackers call up Twitter staff as part of the Twitter-owned security team and make them disclose the passwords that they use to access internal systems.

Twitter tweeted from their support account: "This attack was based upon a significant and deliberate effort to deceive other workers and take advantage of human vulnerabilities to  access through our internal networks..Twitter confirmed that 130 accounts, tweeted from 45, were targeted by attackers, and 36 had direct messages, but the amount of accounts downloaded from "Ups 8" to 7 had been decreased.

 Hackers tweeted bitcoin  scam from President Barack Barack Obama's twitter accounts, Joe Biden, Elon Musk, CEO Tesla and SpaceX, Microsoft's co-founder Bill Gates, and more.
