Apple may be considering taking its iPhones assembly to Vietnam. A new study indicates that the organization recently visited a factory run by Luxshare, an assembly partner, to check the employees' and facility's living conditions.
Apple representatives visited the facilities at Luxshare to check the viability of iPhone production in the region. Apparently, Tang Due Bang, Luxshare Foreign Relations Boss, told local media that the Van Trung Industrial Park factory was scouted to see if it was the right location, had the necessary facilities, and had investment money to start manufacturing iPhones.
Many Apple AirPods Pro cases now say headphones are manufactured in Vietnam, according to a Twitter user, several MacRumors forum posts, and one Verge staffer who recently purchased a pair, suggesting that the company may reduce its dependence on Chinese manufacturing (via MacRumors). AirPods Pro units usually contain a message on the back of the case which says the product has been assembled in China.
