Royal Enfield confirmed in 2019 that work on electric motorcycles has begun.Furthermore, the company officials have confirmed they have a large team working on the development of electric motorcycles. While every manufacturer is jumping into the electric arena, Royal Enfield also understands that electric vehicles will drive the future. Therefore the organization has invested in making their electrical technologies work.

In the passenger vehicle market, the Indian Government is also promoting EV companies and emission-free alternatives.There are currently only three suitable four-wheelers in the EVs: Tata Nexon EV, MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona.Many bike manufacturers like Bajaj Auto, TVS Motor Company, Hero MotoCorp, Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha have been focusing on domestic market electric scooters.

Royal Enfield CEO Vinod Dasari told Moneycontrol that the firm has big plans for all-electric motorcycles. "Electric is something we have been thinking about for quite some time. We are trying to figure out exactly which segment is the right segment for us. Electric is something we take very seriously."

It's not about whether or not electric (mobility) can come, but it's a 'when' question. We've made several prototypes, looked at some parts, and in the near future we 're going to add to the team he added.
