Donald Trump said Friday he will ban TikTok from the United States' rapidly increasing social media application because US authorities have expressed concern that the service may be a resource for Chinese intelligence.Officials and legislators in the US have expressed concern in recent weeks that Beijing's very popular video site is being used for negative purposes, but it has denied the Chinese government any connection.

Earlier Friday, media reports circulated suggesting Trump wanted to retransmit the US operation of the App from its Chinese parent company ByteDance, but the Trump declared a ban.Trump said: "As far as TikTok is concerned, we're banning them from the United States."

TikTok has an estimated billions of users around the world, especially popular with young publics who create and watch short-form videos.TikTok is a platform for hundreds of millions of people, including our community of creators and artists who are creating livelihoods from the app.

"We are not political, we do not accept political advertising and have no agenda , our only objective is to remain a vibrant, dynamic platform for everyone to enjoy"  said TikTok CEO Kevin Mayer
