Engineers' Day is celebrated in India every year on 15 September to pay tribute to one of India's greatest engineers, Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya.To be exact, Visvesvaraya literally was the builder of Indian dams and water systems which not only boosted irrigation systems, but also saved many from floods.He went on to become the most prolific civilian engineer, dam builder, economist and statesman in India. He was one of India's most respected builders of the 20th century.
