The Mahindra Thar second generation is easily one of the most awaited launch in 2020. Revealed after a seemingly endless wait on India's 74th Independence Day.Mahindra is now working on an all-new Thar five-door version.
The five door release of the all-new SUV is being produced by Mahindra Thar. Since Mahindra is planning to concentrate on buyers who wish to buy a regular car that makes the three-door version very unworkable. As access to the Mahindra Thar's rear seats is difficult, the latest five-door version will now have easy access to the front , rear seats.
The Thar is specifically built for off-roading, and therefore has a short wheelbase that increases its breakout angle and enables it to be much more effective. However, since most family car owners do not like off-road driving, this is not the short wheelbase. Thar would have a small audience on its three-door version.
The Mahindra Thar 2020 is mounted on a new chassis and starts with two new engines. A standard manual 6-speed gearbox and an optional 6-speed automatic 6-speed petrol has 152hp, 2.0-liter 'mStallion' petrol. The new Thar's diesel engine is a 132hp, 2.2-liter mHawk model that is fitted with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter.
When launched on 2 October 2020, the latest Mahindra Thar price is planned for Rs 12-15 lakh (the ex-showroom).
