Tata Altroz was introduced in January this year on the Indian market .The Tata Altroz Turbo will be directly up against the Volkswagen Polo TSI, while a new competitor will be joining in the form of the next-generation i20 1.0-litre TGDi turbo-petrol.
At a price of Rs 5.29 lakh, Tata Motors introduced the premium Altroz hatchback. The Tata Altroz is available in five versions-XE, XM, XT, XZ and XZ Option on the ALFA Platform of the company.
The Altroz has so far been offered as standard with 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The 1.2-litre produces 86hp/113Nm and 90hp and 200Nm are produced by the diesel engine.
A new turbo-petrol Altroz document has now been leaked, and the powertrain will be a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine that will produce 110 hp of maximum power at 5,500 rpm, according to the said document, while a peak torque output of 140 Nm will be available between 1,500 and 5,500 rpm.
On the new ALFA platform of the company, Tata Altroz is developed. It comes with headlights with LED DRLs, built-in spoilers . Depending on the variant, the hatchback comes in 14-inch steel or 16-inch alloy wheels. The Altroz has a length of 3990 mm, a width of 1755 mm, a height of 1523 mm and a 2501 mm wheel base. The hatchback is 165 mm ground clearance and have 345 litres boot capacity.
Altroz has a 7-inch touch screen infotainment system that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It comes with voice recognition, digital instrument cluster, cruise controls and front door umbrella holders. The rear door to open 90 degrees.
As a standard option, the Altroz comes with ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, driver and passenger airbags. The rear parking camera, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and IRVM anti-glare are the larger models. In the Global NCAP crash tests, the Altroz received a five-star rating for adult occupants and a three-star rating for child safety.
The leaked document, however, also reveals that the price for the Altroz Turbo will be from Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 8.75 lakh.
