Vishwakarma Jayanti is celebrated every year to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Vishwakarma. Vishwakarma who is considered the Lord of Creation according to the Rig Veda, the divine builder, the engineer.It is believed that Lord Vishwakarma, also known as 'God of Vastu Shastra,' constructed palaces, arms and buildings for the gods.
Generally, the Puja is celebrated in September or October. In Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Karnataka, West Bengal , Bihar, Odisha, Tripura and Jharkhand it is widely held.
Lord Vishwakarma is also believed to have built the holy city of Dwarka which was ruled by Lord Krishna.
