1 ) MoU FOR AYURVEDA RESEARCH
- Under the Ministry, the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi has A Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the University of Amity.The emphasis is on supporting Ayurvedic science.
- The MoU by AIIA is with the Indian Method of Medicine Amity Institute,Created in 2018 by the University of Amity in appreciation of theThe rising importance of the Indian Medicine System.Public-private collaborations have also been consciously supported by the Ministry.
2) The Gyan Circle Ventures, a MeitY-funded Technology Business Incubator (TBI) of the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Sri City (Chittoor), Andhra Pradesh, was virtually launched by Union Minister for Education Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal.
Through using its intellectual resources and using emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence ( AI), Block-chain, Cyber Physical Systems (CPS), Cyber Protection, Internet of Things ( IoT), Robotics, etc., the incubator will leverage the entrepreneurial spirit of the institutions
3) A public campaign, Unite to Fight Corona, was recently initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and called on all to unite in the fight against Corona.The main message of "wear a mask, wash hands, observe social distances and practise do gaj ki doori" was reiterated by the Prime Minister.
Highlights of the action plan - Region- specific targeted communication in high case-load districts.,Simple and easily understandable messages to reach every citizen,Dissemination throughout the country using all media platforms,Banners and Posters at public places; involving Frontline workers and Targeting Beneficiaries of Government Schemes,Hoardings/ wall paintings/ electronic display boards in government premises,Involvement of Local and National influencers to drive home the message,Running mobile vans for regular awareness generation,Audio messages; pamphlets/ brochures on awareness,Seeking support of Local Cable Operators for running COVID messages.
4) SARDP - NE
The allocation of investment funds under the Special Accelerated Road Development Program in the North Eastern Areas (SARDP-NE) has been increased by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways during the current financial year.
5) The Council of Science and Industrial Research recently transferred the technology of "High Flow Rate Fluoride and Iron Removal" to a private company based in Howrah.The technology is used for community level water purification.
6) DBT-BIRAC Clean Tech Demo Park
The" DBT-BIRAC Clean Tech Demo Park "was inaugurated by the Union Minister for Science & Technology at the Barapullah drain site in Sarai Kale Khan, New Delhi.The DBT-BIRAC Clean Tech Demo Park will be used to demonstrate innovative Waste-to-Value technologies with support from Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), a DBT PSU.
7) NOBEL PRIZE FOR LITERATURE
The 2020 Nobel Prize for Literature has been awarded to American poet Louise Gluck.
8) Assam Cabinet nods for the Bodoland Poll. The Cabinet decided to request the State Election Commission to schedule the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) election in December.Bodos are the single largest community among the notified Scheduled Tribes in Assam. They constitute about 5-6% of Assam’s population
The elections to 40 seats in the Council were to have been held on April 4 but were deferred to the pandemic. The council has been under the Governor’s rule since its dissolution on April 27.
9) The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by the PM Modi has approved ‘Natural Gas Marketing Reforms’, taking another significant step to move towards gas based economy.
