At the 2020 Auto Expo, Earlier this year, Maruti Suzuki showcased the Jimny, an off-road SUV that was able to return to battle the Mahindra Thar and Gurkha.
Team-BHP reports that it has begun the Suzuki Jimny assembly process.Reports are now being mentioned that Maruti Suzuki may have begun Jimny's assembly on a trial basis. The records of the Indo-Japanese manufacturer point out that at its Gurgaon factory, one unit of the compact off-roader was assembled.
The company has also recently announced the desire to make India the only manufacturing hub both of the 3-door and 5-door Jimny models.
The five-door Indian-spec Jimny is likely to take some time to keep its costs under review, since it will be assembled using local components. It will be sold at a price of 10 lakh in sub-Rs and will be distributed through the Nexa premium brand. By the scheme, in 2022 and not before, it will look like the 5-door Jimny could be launched.
For the Indian market, the Suzuki Jimny will be the larger 5-door variant available globally, which will be powered by the same 1.5-litre petrol engine. This engine will also be attached to either a five-speed manual or an automatic four-speed transmission unit.It is also expected to offer a 4WD setup with a low-range transfer case as standard.
