The Indian government decided earlier this month to ban a total of 118 Chinese-owned apps, including famous names such as PUBG Mobile, PUBG Mobile Lite and TikTok.
PUBG Mobile servers and networks will be shut down in India from 30 October 2020 onwards. Nobody will be able to play PUBG Mobile anymore from today on. The company has posted a Facebook post announcing it would shut down all of India's servers and services.
PUBG Corporation has also recently announced that they are withdrawing their relationship with Tencent and that they will work to pursue a swift settlement with the Indian government. Apparently, they want to comply with all the country's current rules, and will take full care of operations.
“Dear Fans, To comply with the interim order of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology dated September 2, 2020, Tencent Games will terminate all service and access for users in India to PUBG MOBILE Nordic Map: Livik and PUBG MOBILE Lite (together, “PUBG Mobile”) on October 30, 2020. The rights to publish PUBG MOBILE in India will be returned to the owner of the PUBG intellectual property.” PUBG Mobile wrote
Although users were no longer able to download the app from the Indian Google Play Store or the Apple iOS App Store, in some cases, those who already had the game installed played the game. It is going to be more difficult for users to play the game in India with the PUBG India servers shutting down.
