On October 5, according to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the global virtual summit on Artificial Intelligence (AI), RAISE 2020 -' Responsible AI for Social Empowerment 2020.'



The summit is scheduled for 5 to 9 October 2020 and will be organized by MeitY and NITI Aayog. The inaugural event will take place in the presence of Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister of Electronics & IT, Communications and Law & Justice, eminent global AI expert Professor Raj Reddy, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd, IBM CEO Arvind Krishna and others.

Reddy will hold a session on developing voice-enabled AI that removes linguistic barriers on 6 October, the second day of the summit, according to the Ministry of Electronics & IT. Microsoft Global will also engage in sessions with former Infosys CFO Mohandas Pai and Brad Smith, President & Legal Head.

In this session, Anita Bhatia, Assistant Secretary-General, Deputy Executive Director, UN Women, will also give a keynote address, which will include an all-women panel and will be chaired by UN Women.

The ministry said more than 15,000 stakeholders have registered to participate in RAISE 2020 from across academia, the science industry and government representatives from all over the world so far.
