Two Indian soldiers in Naugam sector in Kupwara District were martyred during the unprovoked ceasefire incident, while 4 others were wounded and evacuated to an army hospital.Earlier, in the Krishna Ghati Sectors of the Poonch district, Pakistan 's army had recurred to an unprovoked ceasefire violation and killed a solider while another was wounded.

 Lt Col Devender Anand from Jammu, said, "On 30 Sept, 2020 in  Ghati Sector, District of Poonch, Pakistan 's Army has resorted to unprovoked cessation of fire on the control line (LoC)."

He said the soldiers deployed there rendered an adequate response during which two military personnel were critically wounded, who were subsequently transferred to medical facilities, but one of the wounded, Lance Naik Karnail Singh, succumbed to his injuries.



Jammu-based Defense spokesperson said that Lance Naik Singh was a brave, highly motivated and a sincere soldier while paying tribute to the slain soldier. He added that he would always be grateful to the country for his supreme sacrifices and commitment to service.

Since last night's provocation in Pakistan, three Indian military soldiers have lost their lives. Pakistan normally attempts to drive more terrorists to the Indian side before the snow sets in, since passes and tracks commonly used by them are covered and closed.
