Chennai Tremendous Kings (CSK) fans can breathe comfortably. During the 2021 season, MS Dhoni will definitely play for the franchise. Via the toss forward of their last league sport in opposition to Kings XI Punjab this season, the CSK skipper said so himself.
Requested by commentator Danny Morrison whether or not the Kings XI encounter will likely be his final sport for CSK, Dhoni left no room for ambiguity when he clearly said: “Undoubtedly not.”
After all, CSK is out of this season's playoff race and it had led to hypothesis over the previous week whether or not Dhoni is likely to be coming back next season. However, as reported by TOI earlier, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed that the 39-year-old will also lead the subsequent season of the group.
"Sure, undoubtedly. I’m very assured that Dhoni will lead CSK in 2021. He has received three titles for us within the IPL. That is the primary 12 months we now have not certified for the playoffs. No different group has carried out that. One unhealthy 12 months doesn’t imply we should change all the pieces" - On October 26, Viswanathan informed TOI.
Dhoni, who announced his worldwide cricket retirement in August, hasn't been at his best this season with the bat. At a strike price of 116.27, with no single half-century under his belt, he has scored just 200 runs in 13 matches.
At the beginning of the marketing campaign, he acknowledged that he felt a little under-cooked. In any event, after India's World Cup exit in July 2019, he had performed no aggressive cricket earlier than the IPL, and the Covid pandemic just extended his hiatus from the sport.
