The wait for this month's most widely awaited launch is nearly over. Today, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is set to be launched. The all-new 350cc cruiser, under the new J-platform, will be the first bike. For the base model, it is estimated to be priced around Rs 1.75 lakh ( ex-showroom).
A replacement for the Thunderbird 350X will be the new bike. The new bike will be identical to the outgoing model in its cruiser stance. To keep up with the increase of competition, the company will also be adding a number of emerging technology elements.
The all-new 349 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder BS6-compliant engine will come with the new Royal Enfield Meteor 350. It is anticipated that the latest engine on the bike would produce 20.5hp and 27Nm of torque. In contrast to the UCE Thunderbird 350, which produced 19.8hp and 28Nm of torque, the new motor will be tweaked to produce more power.
The Meteor's front wheel is a 19-inch unit with a tyre of 100/90, while the size of the rear wheel is 17-inch and it has a tyre of 140/70. On both ends (300 mm front and 270 mm rear), the bike gets disc brakes, and dual-channel ABS is provided as standard.
A new twin-pod cluster instrument console with bluetooth communication is planned for the new Meteor 350. The larger pod is likely to have an analogue speedometer in the instrument console, while the smaller pod could get a TFT colour display for navigation. The Odometer, Tripmeter, Fuel Graph Bar and Service Reminder will be on the digital LCD screen. Circular halogen headlamps, LED DRL, LED tail lamps, forward footpegs, raised handlebars, etc. will be on the bike.
In three variants, Fireball, Stellar, and Supernova, the Meteor 350 will be offered.
